I wanted to point out to everyone visiting our site that Cerfew restrictions apply to our facility. We are open to the public, which means that all State cerfew laws apply. This has frustrated a few people, especially some that are over 16. You MUST have an ID on hand when we card people for cerfew.
Current cerfew laws are as follows:
Must be 17 or older to not be subject to the law. Sun-Thurs curfew begins at 11PM. Fri-Sat cerfew begins at 12am.
While we created Crazy Penguins to be a place where people can go to be in a constructive and safe environment, we still have to follow the laws of the land. Helps us not cause you and us frustration. Keep an ID on hand. If you are under 18, make sure you have planned accordingly.
Thanks!

Well certain people I know actually have curfew laws applied to them, but the thing is, when they get done from work etc. if you have a parent pick you up, the laws don't apply, I mean if you don't have a ride home other than your mom/dad coming at a predetermined time, it doesn't really matter because you are not violating your curfew. You are in a public place with people you know your parents know where you are etc.

Not true, unfortunately. Minors are allowed to work past cerfew and there are laws allowing them to drive from work to home. But that is the limit. If Crazy Penguins was a private facility, the laws would not apply. Because we are a publically accessible facility, the laws do apply. Any retail business is considered publically accessible.
If you are interested, you can read more on the law at the State of Illinois site.
